NFTs & collectibles

An NFT on XChain is an ordinary token made unique by locking its supply and attaching art on-chain. Trading, gifting, and royalties all just work, because an NFT is a token.

An NFT here isn't a separate kind of token with its own special rules. It's a regular token, made one-of-a-kind by locking its supply (to a single unit, or to a fixed number of identical copies) with art or files attached to it on-chain. Everything that works for tokens works for NFTs, because an NFT is a token.

One-of-ones, editions, and collections

Make a true 1-of-1 by issuing a token with a supply of exactly one. Make an edition by issuing a fixed number of identical copies. Group many items under a single parent name to form a collection with chain-proven provenance. In every case the supply is locked by the network, so it can never be inflated or split.

Art and files, on-chain

Attach images, video, audio, or documents directly to a token. The attachment is signed by the owner and verifiable from the chain, so the bond between an item and its artwork can't be faked or quietly swapped out later.

Royalties that follow every sale

Pair an NFT with a token rule and the network applies a creator royalty automatically whenever it sells on the built-in exchange. No marketplace cooperation required. Royalties are opt-in: you add them when you want them, not by default.

Why “a composition, not a new primitive” matters

Because an NFT is just a token with locked supply and attached content, it inherits everything the platform already does well: the same exchange, the same wallets, the same provenance and security rules. There's nothing new to trust, and no separate NFT system that could behave differently.

What you can build

Digital art and 1-of-1s, numbered print editions, generative or curated collections, membership passes, and collectibles whose authenticity and scarcity are provable straight from the chain.
